As an alternative source of energy, and according to the environmental policy which has lately become tougher, to develop and optimize the process of biogas production is a mainstay of BFC Group, looking for new organic waste blends for anaerobic digestion and promoting their reuse. Also, looking after synergies with other industries in order to absorb and energetically valorize their organic waste, promoting the integration of biogas plants, has been an activity developed on the basis of the experience gained in this working area. Within this line BFC has participated in the ENERWASTE project among others, designated as the best European R&D project in 2004.
