High temperature fuel cells used for heat and power production in stationary applications are intended to be, due to their higher yields and low emissions, the alternative to conventional cogeneration systems. These devices can be fed directly with biogas and in this sense BFC has initiated this R & D line three years ago by working with this demonstrating technology, using a 5 kW SOFC stack of its property.
